Jenny was appointed Chair of the Electoral Commission in 2009 and has had a long, varied and successful career in the voluntary, public and private sectors.
She is also a current board member of the charity Money Advice Trust, a non-Executive Director of WRAP (Waste and Resources Action Programme) and a trustee of the Charities Aid Foundation.
Jenny started her working life as a secretary and following two degrees as a mature student in the mid-1980s - her first was a BA in Communications Studies at Sheffield Hallam - she started a career in the not for profit sector relating to human rights and equality working for Liberty, Charter 88 and Victim Support.
By 2005 Jenny was Deputy Chair of the Banking Code Standards Board and Chair of the Equal Opportunities Commission.
She has also run her own business as a sole trader, as partner in a communications consultancy, and as a founding director of an international consultancy specialising in governance and human rights.
Jenny has played a major role in shaping public policy and influencing business practice in the UK for the benefit of all.
