Honorary Doctorate - 2003
Martin Narey was awarded an Honorary Doctorate for his outstanding achievements and national reputation in the field of Criminal Justice.
Formerly the Director General of the Prison Service, Martin has recently taken up post as the Commissioner for Correction Services, responsible for transforming the Government's performance delivery across the UK's correctional services and ensuring the effective, joint working of the Prison and Probation Services and the Youth Justice Board.
Martin is an alumus of the University, graduating in 1977 with a degree in Public Administration. Since then he has returned to the University to show his support for the Community Justice Portal - a dynamic information and networking e-learning environment for all those engaged in the criminal and community justice sectors.
