Professor Alec Jenner
Honorary Doctorate - 1992
Alec Jenner was Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Sheffield for 25 years. He established the Psychogeriatric services in Sheffield, as well as the Phoenix House, a therapeutic community house for the rehabilitation of drug addicts. He was also the honorary director of the MRC Unit for the Chemical Pathology of Mental Disorders and was a member of the Committee for Safety of Medicines for eight years.
He is the Professor Visitante of Psychiatrie in Conceppcion in Chile as well as a founding member of the Association de Castilla de Pino in Cordoba Spain.
Professor Jenner was awarded an Honorary Fellowship at Sheffield Hallam in 1992.
