Seán Mahon has combined a career as a leading businessman with a commitment to rejuvenating deprived areas and helping disadvantaged groups in Yorkshire.
Seán has enjoyed a distinguished career at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a member of the UK board and as a partner in the firm for 24 years and has made a significant contribution to regional business as Chief Executive of Cattles, a Yorkshire based FTSE 150 company listed on the UK Stock Exchange, from which he retired in 2007.
A chartered accountant by profession, Seán was appointed HRH Prince of Wales' Business Ambassador for Yorkshire and Humber.
He is Vice President of the Young People's Clubs of South Yorkshire and Hallamshire, which provides sporting activities for young people in disadvantaged areas of Sheffield.
As founding chairman of Leeds Cares, Seán is behind a project which has put 8,000 volunteers on the streets of the city, putting in 100,000 hours to help the homeless, give advice to prisoners due for release and support primary schoolchildren in disadvantaged areas with their reading and numeracy skills.
Seán is now chairman of the National Cares movement which has established Cares partnerships in 23 other cities and towns across the UK.
