Trevor Phillips OBE

Trevor began his career in broadcast journalism in 1980 when he joined London Weekend Television (LWT) as a researcher for current affairs series Skin. He went on to produce the documentary series Black on Black and the history series The Making of Britain before becoming a reporter on This Week. While editing and presenting The London Programme, he became Head of Current Affairs at LWT in 1992.
He has chaired the Greater London Assembly and is Vice President of the Royal Television Society. He was appointed Chair of the Commission for Racial Equality in 2003 which was replaced by the Equality and Human Rights Commission in October 2007.
Trevor visited Sheffield Hallam last year to talk publicly about the work of the EHRC at the first in an annual series of law lectures in partnership with DLA Piper.
