Gemma works as Employer Partnerships Officer within Business Engagement Skills and Employability (BESE).
About
Working with employers both nationally and globally, Gemma's role is to fully engage and establish a collaborative relationship between employers and Sheffield Hallam University.
Aligned to the Sheffield Hallam Business School, she supports employability for students by advertising graduate roles, and creating and running the SHU Internship schemes. She organises and runs the Hallam Careers Fairs and employer events on site. She also works to support academic links with industry for guest lectures and skills sessions.
A Sheffield Hallam graduate with BA Hons Sociology in 2002, Gemma then worked for 13 years as senior level recruitment consultant across multiple disciplines in the UK and Australia, recruiting into government and corporate sectors, specialising in roles in IT, policy, projects, strategy and human resources.
She joined the University in 2016 and has worked developing key relationships with employers both locally and nationally to support employability of students and graduates.
Gemma’s areas of interests are graduate and student recruitment.
