Lecturer

Summary

Dr Elias Tsoutsanis graduated from University of Liverpool in 2003 with an honours degree in Aerospace Engineering and from Cranfield University in 2010 with a PhD in Gas Turbine Engineering.

About

Dr Elias Tsoutsanis graduated from University of Liverpool in 2003 with an honours degree in Aerospace Engineering and from Cranfield University in 2010 with a PhD in Gas Turbine Engineering. Between 2004 and 2006, he was a Second Lieutenant in the Hellenic Airforce. Upon completion of his PhD, he became a Research Associate in the National Technical University of Athens working in condition monitoring and diagnostics of gas turbines within the Laboratory of Thermal Turbomachines.

One year later, he joined the Paragon SA in Greece as a Senior Research Engineer. Between 2012 and 2015 he was a postdoctoral Research Fellow at Qatar University working in advanced diagnostics and prognostics methods for gas turbines within Dr Meskin’s group. In 2015, Elias moved to Dubai, UAE to work as an Assistant Professor in Emirates Aviation University. From 2017 he has been working at Sheffield Hallam University. His research interest lies within the performance-based diagnostics and prognostics of gas turbines used for power and propulsion applications.
