Elizabeth Christy BSc (Hons)

Researcher

Summary

I joined SIRG in 2012 after graduating with a first class honours degree and working at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Since working at SIRG I have worked on a number of projects covering a range of research techniques and all of SIRGs core themes.

About

Since working at the Sport Industry Research Group (SIRG) I have gained extensive experience in both qualitative and quantitative research techniques and data analysis. As a Social Return on Investment (SROI) trained practitioner my work has focussed on measuring the social impact and value of sport using SROI analysis. I have also developed my professional skills as a researcher through understanding the motivations and barriers to sports participation, particularly in young people and conducting national and community level programme evaluations.  I have vast experience conducting systematic literature reviews, undertaking fieldwork and researching the impact of major events, mostly economic impact and inspirational effects. I have worked for a range of clients, namely Sport England, UK Sport, the Youth Sport Trust, Sport Northern Ireland and DCMS. • SROI trained practitioner • Social impact and value of sport • Economic impact analysis of major events • Systematic literature reviews • Programme evaluations • Case study research • Online survey design and management
