I take an active part in updating content and assessments for all marketing undergraduate courses recently rewriting marketing course content with particular responsibility for marketing communications modules for 2015 revalidation. This involved understanding and interpreting QAA guidelines and considering implementation issues.

Specific innovations in learning and teaching include my devising assessed online debates for final year undergraduates and postgraduates and assessed blogs and youtube presentations for second years for modules that I lead. These form the basis for Learning, Teaching and Assessment conference presentations and have been cited as examples of good learning and teaching practice. I begin studying for a Doctorate in Education in January 2016 finding out about the Influence of mobile devices on development of  'self' in undergraduates. My approach to teaching and learning is to link topics with real examples from professional life, drawing on my experience as a marketing manager and professional copy writer. Students are encouraged to think about how theories apply to real situations and to bring topical information into the groups.

My current focus is employability. I visit students during their placement year and support them on career management and professional development modules on their return into final year. Until recently I taught part time professional students on intensive courses and have supported distance learning students for their CIM qualifications through the Oxford College of Marketing.

I have engaged in continuous professional development and training throughout my varied career. I achieved my Chartered Institute of Marketing postgraduate diploma and MSc in Marketing Management as a part time student with a young family and part time job. I energetically support diversity and inclusion, and believe in helping students achieve their potential.

As Business Development manager until 2014 I initiated contact with HEAs and recruited onto undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across the University in China, Taiwan, India and Europe. In addition to recruiting, I gave guest lectures at partner institutions and developed alumni networks. I supervise dissertation students at The University of Sheffield and have been complimented on the thoroughness of feedback and support. I attend and present at conferences for the Association of Business Schools and the Higher Education Academy, of which I am a Fellow. In 2016 I was elected a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.
