Summary

I have worked in research funding for more than 25 years, both supporting researchers applying for grants and advising grant funders on how to get the best research applications.

I was head of research at the Association of Medical Research Charities for 12 years, working with more than 140 medical research funders.

I have a rich experience in the policy and implementation of many areas including open access, clinical research costing and impact both with the REF 2014 and researchfish.

I hope I can bring some of my experience to help researchers in SHU to create and deliver research that makes a difference both for our community and the wider world.
