I have many years' experience as journalist working for national and regional publications. I am the course leader for MA Multimedia Journalism.

About

I started my career in weekly papers before moving on to daily papers. I have worked as a freelance for many years writing for regional and national papers, magazines, and websites - I have also worked in PR. 

I am the course leader for MA Multimedia Journalism and have taught journalism for eight years. I am also an examiner for the National Council of Journalists (NCTJ).

Research

I am currently studying for my PhD. I am conducting interdisciplinary research into the meaning of 'news' and its consumption. I have presented papers at national and international conferences about fake news.

I supervise MA students for their dissertation or applied project.
