Equality and Diversity Specialist within Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) Education. Experienced Careers Adviser and this informs many of the current projects and research undertaken. Particular interest in career learning within work experience/work related learning. Undertakes consultancy work with employers, training providers and other organisations to promote inclusive approaches to STEM courses and careers.
Jill is a Project Manager with the Women in Science, Engineering and Technology team at Sheffield Hallam University. Jill utilises her skills as a career development professional to work with organisations and individuals and encourage people from under-represented groups (especially woman and girls) to enter Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM). Jill leads activities relating to equality and diversity including the development of an online toolkit for equality and diversity in STEM. Working with WISE and the UKRC in the past, Jill has developed projects to increase the number of girls in STEM work experience placements, supporting schools and employers in challenging stereotypical choices. Jill is studying for a PhD with a focus on social mobility and career learning through work experience.
