Summary
Senior Lecturer in Finance. My teaching interests are in the area of corporate finance and financial management awareness. I teach and facilitate across a range of final year undergraduate and postgraduate courses together with a variety of bespoke corporate programmes. I have over 20 years experience in senior financial roles and I am particularly interested in financial management for Senior Non Financial Managers.
Away from the University I have held a number of Non Executive Director appointments and I am currently a NED, and Chair of the audit and Risk Committee, for one of the UK's leading Hospital Foundation Trusts. The fact that I am still involved in corporate decisions and corporate governance helps me to understand the issues faced by corporate learners.
My research interests include the use of group work in accounting education and the development of professional accounting skills. I am interested in self efficacy and how this can be identified and reflected in the learning process.
I am proud of the fact that my first degree is from Sheffield Hallam and I also hold an MBA from Cranfield University and a Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. Professionally I am an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and hold the Chartered Institute of Marketing Certificate in Marketing.
