Kate Heaton-Morley RNMH, RN, RSCN, RNT, BSc (Hons), MSc, FHEA

Senior Lecturer

My main role at Sheffield Hallam University is to support and educate student nurses undertaking Pre-Registration Nurse Education. A smaller part of my role is facilitating interprofessional and mandatory training and education to students on other health related courses within the faculty. As required I assist in the facilitation of CPD for registered nurses.

  • About

My background is nursing, although I have worked in different fields the last 25 years have been primarily in children's nursing. I remain passionate about the practice of children's nursing and in order to maintain clinical currency I hold a clinical contract with a local trust and regularly work in clinical practice on an acute children's ward.

As module leader for two modules within pre-registration nursing I am involved in the development and implementation of new curricula, planning and delivery of taught sessions and assessment. I support a number of practice areas who provide practical experience and assessment of student nurses on clinical placement.

In addition I am Admissions Lead for Child Nursing, coordinating and facilitating the selection and interviewing of applicants and leading child nursing team activities at University open days.
