Senior Lecturer in Midwifery

Summary

I am a senior midwifery lecturer, Course Lead for the BSc in Midwifery. I am academic adviser to student midwives across the three years of the programme.

About

I had been in Midwifery Education for over 25 years and have previously held various roles including the post of Director of Undergraduate Midwifery Programmes and Lead Midwife for Education. Therefore I have experience of the leadership and management of undergraduate midwifery programmes.  I take the responsibility for the administration of the Pre-Registration courses and ensuring that quality was maintained. I also had strategic responsibility for the development, management, evaluation and delivery of high quality midwifery programmes and I ensured the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards were met.  Part of my role was also to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with commissioners of midwifery education and service colleagues. My main areas of research and publication have been Reflective Practice, Lifelong learning and Curriculum Development.
