Mark Edwards

Senior Lecturer

Summary

I joined the Department in 2006 and have previously held roles in Admissions, Markets and Recruitment, Programme Leadership, Line Management and Timetabling. As a Senior Lecturer I am currently responsible for the learning, teaching and assessment on a number of subjects as Module Leader.

About

I came into academia in 2006 following a 25-year career in industry, latterly working at Operations Director level within the distribution industry where I qualified in national and international road transport and was an O-licence holder. I gained a first-class honours degree at Sheffield Hallam, where I also qualified in teaching at Higher Education level, and now I am a fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I have held a number of management roles within the department, but my primary interest lies in teaching and enabling students to maximise their potential by creating stretching and interesting modules for them to study. I was awarded Inspirational Teacher of the year in 2011, 2012 and 2013 and have won a College teaching related award of some sort in each year from 2011 onwards. In 2014 I was a finalist in the national OUP Law Teacher of the Year Awards.
