Dr Oliver Faust DEng, PhD, Dpl. Ing, CEng, MIET

Summary

Dr Faust joint Sheffield Hallam University in 2016. He is a well-known researcher and prolific writer. His curious mind and scientific rigour has led him to be involved in a wide range of scientific, educational and commercial projects. 

Currently, he holds two doctorate titles:
1) Philosophical Doctor (PhD) from the University of Aberdeen (2006). Topic: A self-reconfigurable system for software defined radio.
2) Doctor of Engineering (DEng) from Chiba University in Japan (2015). Topic: Formal and model driven biomedical systems design.

About

Dr Oliver Faust was a founding faculty member at Habib University in Karachi, a small start-up University in a large city, before he transferred to Sheffield Hallam University, a large University in a small city. His academic journey started in Germany, where he received his first degree: Diplom Ingenieur. Subsequent stops include Singapore, where he worked for two times four years at Ngee Ann Polytechnic. The gap, between the two stints in Singapore, was spent by studying in Scotland and in working in Belgium. The studies led to a first doctorate degree from the University of Aberdeen. Working as employee number one at Altreonic, a technology start-up, in Belgium provided valuable leadership experience. That experience came in handy when he helped to establish Habib University. Always passionate about teaching and learning, Oliver split his time in Karachi between studying for his second doctorate and student instruction. In 2015, he received the degree of Doctor of Engineering (DEng) from Chiba University, Japan.
