Summary

I am qualified registered social worker and senior lecturer with 28 years' experience of working with vulnerable young people and adults with a wide range of complex needs and disabilities. I have extensive experience (15 years plus) of being involved in practice education, at both operational and strategic levels.

About

I have extensive experience of working for the statutory and voluntary sector, specialising in providing high quality services for vulnerable adults and young people, as well as being the lead person for developing high quality social work practice and training.

I have a wealth of experience as a social worker, and senior manager at director level.

I am an experienced lecturer, trainer and assessor of social work for both qualified and unqualified staff. I have a specialist interest in assessment, care management, safeguarding, and inspection of services.

Setting up a social work student unit at Enable in 2013.

Leading and organising “Facing the Future” conference with partners from Sheffield Hallam University and Skills for Care to an audience of 150 people including the senior advisor to Number 10 Downing Street, Universities and Local Authorities detailing results from research I produced at Enable, regarding the value of training and employing dual qualified staff i.e. social work/nursing in 2012.

Winner of Skills for Care UK accolade “Most Innovative Model of Social Work Practice Education” in 2008.
