Summary
I qualified to teach in Secondary Education and spent sixteen years working in schools in South Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire. I finished my career in schools as Head of Faculty. My doctoral thesis (currently on hold!) is an examination of how policy has shaped conceptualisations of teacher professionalism and how this impacts on the work of teachers.

My main interests include teacher professionalism, social justice in education, history of education and policy, theories of learning and motivation theory.
