Teaching
Child Nursing
My teaching spans all child field and interprofessional modules, including undergraduate and post graduate levels, and I lead a 30 credit masters level module; Core principles of paediatrics in the acute sector and primary care.
This includes supervision of dissertation students within both pre-registration and post registration training, setting, marking and moderating course work. I am a member of the teaching team for the current Level 5 Interprofessional Education (IPE) module.
Additionally I support the admissions team and participate in recruitment and selection events, open days and interviews. I also link to and support a number of practice placement areas who provide experience and assessment of student nurses on clinical placement.
Research
My research and professional interests include: exercise and activity for childhood cancer survivors, endocrinopathies associated with the treatments for childhood cancer, transition for survivors of childhood cancer and an evaluation of the value of Roald Dahl specialist children's nurses.
