  • About

    Having taught in secondary schools in West & South Yorkshire, successfully holding the positions of Head of Geography, Head of Year, whole school co-ordinator for PSHE and Geography Advanced Skills Teacher, I currently work as a Teaching & Learning Consultant for Rotherham School Improvement Service. My work here has a focus on working with Early Career Teachers, supporting colleagues and schools to develop and enhance their primary science and wider foundation subject curriculum offer as well as working to support teachers develop as school leaders. I also work within Rotherham Appropriate Body, overseeing and quality assuring Statutory NQT induction. I have a part time secondment to Sheffield Hallam University working as PGCE Geography Course Lead / Academic Adviser & Teach First Geography Subject Lead, Yorkshire and the Humber Region. I have led both of these programmes since their inception at Sheffield Hallam University. 

    I have successfully completed a range of National College Leadership Development Programmes, including Leading from the Middle, Leadership Pathways & the Consultant Leader Development Programme. I am a member of the Geographical Association and Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. I have also been accredited by the RGS as a Chartered Geography Teacher.

    I maintain my interest in my own subject area through contributing to broader geography networks at a national level. I am an active member of the Geographical Association & Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. I am particularly interested in early career teacher pedagogy and practice.

    I am a member of the Geographical Association and Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. I am an active member of the GA Teacher Education Special Interest Group (TESIG) and have also contributed to sessions at the GA Conference.
