About
Prior to working at Sheffield Hallam University I taught in secondary schools in West & South Yorkshire, successfully working as a Head of Geography, Head of Year, whole school co-ordinator for PSHE and Geography Advanced Skills Teacher. I have also worked as a Local Authority Teaching & Learning Consultant as part of a school improvement team. In this role, I worked with Early Career Teachers, middle and senior leaders to support curriculum design, subject, curriculum and pedagogical development, specifically in primary geography and science. I also worked as part of an Appropriate Body, latterly as part of the South Yorkshire Teaching School Hub, to oversee and quality assure ECT statutory induction.
I have successfully completed a range of National Professional Qualifications. I am an active member of the Geographical Association and Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and a RGS Chartered Geography Teacher. Association and Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. I have also been accredited by the RGS as a Chartered Geography Teacher.

I maintain my interest in my own subject area through contributing to broader geography networks at a national level. I am an active member of the Geographical Association & Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. I am particularly interested in early career teacher pedagogy and practice.
I am the course leader for PGCE Geography and the geography Subject Lead for Yorkshire & the Humber Region.

I am currently engaged in doctoral study focusing on primary mid career teachers as curriculum leaders.
