I have been in the Construction Industry for my entire career, gaining over 20 years experience. I teach on a wide variety of Construction related subject areas at both Undergraduate and Post Graduate Levels. I am the joint Course Leader for BSc Construction Project Management.
I spent over ten years working as a Local Authority Building Control Officer and the majority of my time focused on building sites, checking building work for compliance with the Building Regulations to ensure buildings are being constructed to the relevant UK minimum standards.
I have extensive experience in domestic, commercial, residential and industrial builds and have been the lead inspector on a number of multi million pound construction projects such as sports centres, large industrial warehouses and schools. Whilst in this role, I also undertook work for a Health and Safety Company where I wrote a series of generic risk assessments and followed their implementation on to the site.
In 2009 I joined Sheffield Hallam University as a senior lecturer, specialising in all areas of Construction Project Management and Health and Safety. I am currently the joint Course leader for the BSc Construction Project Management.
