Summary
Professor Christopher Wigginton is the Pro Vice-Chancellor with responsibility for the university's global engagement and academic partnerships. He also heads the university's College of Social Sciences and Arts.
His background is a non-traditional one in higher education, having begun his career in advertising in London and Rome with the Saatchi Group prior to establishing himself in the arts and humanities disciplines.
Chris has published several books, including Modernism from the Margins and Dylan Thomas: A Case Study. He's also led a range of research, learning and teaching projects, including for the Arts and Humanities Research Council, the Arts Council and a range of international agencies.
He was previously a visiting professor in China, India and France, co-Director of the Off the Shelf Festival of Words. He is currently on the Board of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths Learning, a flagship educational agency, created in partnership with the 'White Rose University Consortium'.
