Facilities for local voluntary and charitable organisations

Sheffield Hallam is proud to work closely with voluntary and charitable organisations within the community. As part of our Civic University Agreement, launched in September 2021, we have made a commitment to strengthen our support for local groups.

We are working with Voluntary Action Sheffield to provide local groups access to spaces on our campus for free, for one-off events or regular bookings, subject to availability.

The University is currently offering free use of classroom space on weekday evenings between 6-8pm, in our Charles Street Building on Arundel Gate.

Eligibility and booking

Event spaces are available for small-scale voluntary and charitable organisations based in South Yorkshire. This scheme is designed to support small-scale voluntary and charitable organisations based in South Yorkshire who do not have the financial resources to hire paid-for meeting space.

Anyone wishing to book a space can do so by completing the enquiry form on our website. We will initially assess all bookings and the requirements of the organisation to determine the suitability to take part in the scheme and whether the organisation aligns with Sheffield Hallam's values.

If you have any queries, please email our inbox at hallamcommunityspace@shu.ac.uk
