The Environmental Compliance Service sits within the Estates Team, but activities including the certified ISO 14001 Environmental Management and ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems span the breadth of university activities. Sustainability as a whole institution approach is overseen by the Rory Duncan (Pro Vice-Chancellor - Research and Innovation) who sits on the University Executive Board.
The day-to-day sustainability operations are carried out by a dedicated team with varying roles as defined below:
Head of Sustainability and Performance
Campus Management lead on the Climate Action Strategy, Chair of the ISO14001 Management Review Group.
Environmental Compliance and Sustainability Manager
Progress and management of team, policy and plan development, strategy, compliance, engagement
Maintenance of environmental and energy management systems, lead auditing, data presentation, compliance.
Systems and Compliance Officer
Auditing, data collection and presentation, legislation.
Auditing, data collection and presentation, communications, behaviour change campaigns, green champions network.
Energy Manager (part of the Infrastructure and Compliance Team within Estates, working closely with the Environmental Compliance Team.)
Management of consumption of energy and water across the estate including compliance, monitoring and reduction projects.
