Sheffield Hallam University was due to release its new Environmental Plan 2020 to 2030 in August 2020, however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting move to remote working and urgently changing priorities of colleagues who needed to focus on the continued running of the university in an unprecedented situation, development of the new plan has been inevitably delayed. It is now decided that the new Plan and Policy launch will take place in January 2021.

The 2018/19 Behaviour Change Campaign is "Think Act Reduce" which will focus on the Waste Hierarchy of Re-use, Reduce, Recycle, Energy Recovery and Disposal.

The University's achievements have continued to grow this year as demonstrated by our recent Green Gown Awards win. Sheffield Hallam University has won a Green Gown Award in the 'Campus Health Food and Drink' category, which commemorates the success of the 'Taste Hallam Brand'.

The University took part in the WWF's Earth Hour on the 24th March at 8:30pm. We were the largest organisation in Sheffield that participated in the event, joining millions of people and organisations across the world that took part in the event.
