Campaign launches new environmental standard

The University is continuing to raise the already high standard of its environmental management by aligning the established ISO 14001 environmental management system with the newly published 2015 requirements. A new communications campaign has been launched to raise awareness of the great work going on behind the scenes to support sustainability and promote how staff and students can support our sustainability aims.

The Working to reduce our environmental impacts campaign was launched University-wide, with the assistance of our network of green champions. Campaign materials, including posters, stickers, plasma screen slides and PC screensavers have been distributed through the University, alongside news articles and messages to all staff shared through college, directorate and University communication channels. Launched ahead of the upcoming August audit when the University anticipates becoming officially accredited to the new standard, this campaign aims to make environmental management more relatable for staff and students across Sheffield Hallam using comparable and real examples of the management system in practice.
