On the 7 June, the Business, Sustainability and Compliance Team hosted their Sustainability Fair in Owen Main Entrance.
The event celebrated the University's fantastic environmental achievements from the past year including our coffee cup recycling bins and reusable cup scheme, our big WWF Earth Hour switch off and our Sustainable Restaurant Association Accolades. The fair also marked the end of the team's most recent behaviour change campaign 'Think, Act, Save.'
The purpose of the event was to provide an opportunity for students and staff to learn more about the sustainability initiatives that are taking place across the University. Some of our key external suppliers were in attendance including Veolia, SYPTE and ofo to chat about the work they do with the University and how they incorporate sustainability into the services they provide.
The event also celebrated World Environment Day (5 June) with the theme for this year's international event being 'Beat Plastic Pollution.' This provided a chance to share information on what the University is doing to cut back on its plastic consumption as well as providing advice on how to reduce plastic usage on a daily basis.
