Golf in Society

Golf in Society

WHAT DO THEY DO?

They run golf sessions for people living with dementia, stroke and Parkinson’s disease to improve their health and wellbeing. They have run over 450 of these sessions to date.

WHAT WILL THEY GET FROM THE ACCELERATOR?

Golf in Society aim to validate the benefits of the sessions that they run for the people with living with a range of long-term health conditions. They will also be introduced to relevant NHS services to socially prescribe their golf sessions.

WHY DID WE ACCEPT THEM?

They strongly fit into two of our themes and we have academics with experience of quantifying health, wellbeing and quality of life indicators of activity-based interventions. Our mentors and wider network have strong links into the NHS and the AWRC researchers have strong expertise in dementia and stroke.
