Save the date, and come and join in this free event with the Sheffield branch of Parkinson's UK and Sheffield Hallam University at the AWRC.
Over the course of the day there will be:
Discussions in the Lecture Theatre about medication, diet and staying well.
The morning discussions will centre on Parkinson’s features and common management:
- 11:00 - 12:00 – Common features of Parkinson’s and current research
- 12:00 - 13:00 – Medication and surgical management for Parkinson’s
The afternoon discussions will centre on ways people might stay well:
- 13:00 - 14:00 – Exercise and diet in Parkinson’s
- 14:00 - 15:00 – Networking and support
Opportunities to try different types of exercises in the Physical Activity Suite:
- 11:00 - 12:00 - Argentine Tango
- 12:00 - 13:00 - Boxing training
- 13:00 - 14:00 - Chair-based general exercise
- 14:00 - 15:00 - Pilates
- 15:00 - Singalong with the Steel City Tremorloes, our choir and voice group
If you want to make sure you have a place at any of these sessions, see booking details below. Remember to wear clothing and shoes suitable for the session.
Opportunities to have your functional fitness tested in the Movement Analysis Lab with thoughts about how you can work on your ability to stay strong and steady.
The testing takes about 30 minutes depending on your needs. Please book a time slot for your session by contacting Bhanu (details below).

Over the course of your time with us, talk with peers for support, plus shape the research and services offered to people with Parkinson's around the city and South Yorkshire region by contributing thoughts to the ’Suggestion Boards’.
A Peer support session for younger, or working-age, people living with Parkinson’s has been organised in the café at 1.30 pm. Meet the two Sue’s who want to re-establish the group
