Entrepreneurial alumnus creates sports magazine with help from the hatchery

Graduates Nathan Gray and student Matt Walsh set up a successful business magazine with the help of Sheffield Hallam's Hatchery. The magazine was founded in April 2012 and has developed an impressive and dedicated monthly readership of 15,000 people.

Student Sport magazine is the first national magazine for university sports and has covered the University sports scene.

Nathan and Matt met in the Hatchery, a business start-up incubator that supports entrepreneurial students and graduates. At the time Nathan was being supported as a graduate starting a business and Matt was undertaking his placement year on the Placement Year Entrepreneurship Scheme.

Now the pair are returning to Venture Matrix to work with current students, helping events and public relations students to develop their first ever event and looking forward to working with postgraduate students on a brand expansion project in the New Year.
