Alumni Networking lunch at Taj Hotel most successful Indian alumni event to date

Date: Friday 24 May 2013
Time: 11.00 PM to 11.00 PM
Venue: Taj Hotel, Pune

On 25 May 2013, the most successful Sheffield Hallam alumni event in India to date took place, attracting 17 former Sheffield Hallam students from hospitality and international business studies.

It was designed as a networking lunch held in the Taj Hotel, Pune, close to Mumbai. The highlight was a talk from the Sheffield Business School (SBS) India lead, Mark Godson entitled 'Social Media-Who's in Charge?' Clare Moonan, senior lecturer of business and marketing, hosted the event alongside Mark and one of our alumni Nirupama Mande (MBA, class of 2006). She was instrumental in helping to plan the event to ensure it would be attractive to Indian students and also helped to contact alumni.

Clare Moonan said 'The event was very well received and we are hoping to roll out more of these events in India, with the next one in Mumbai. We have already had an offer of help in organising it from one of our SBS alumnus, Sonal Raghupati (2008) who is now working in events management. Sonal and her partner Vinod have recently managed the hugely successful Master Chef India TV series'.

Clare Moonan was also interviewed about Sheffield Hallam by leading online Hindi newspaper Bhopal listen here.
