The Hallam Warriors Alumni Association held a celebration and reunion dinner on Saturday 15 December 2012 at Cutlers Hall, in Sheffield, for its alumni of the American Football program. It gave all those in attendance an opportunity to celebrate the first 10 years of the American Football program at Sheffield Hallam University and re-connect with one another.

The evening was attended by over 100 alumni including former players, coaches and cheerleaders that were involved with the team since its inception in 2002. Alumni travelled from all over the United Kingdom as well as further afield with some alumni coming from as far away as Africa and Denmark to attend the event. The event was kindly supported by Team Sheffield Hallam.

The celebration and reunion reunited the founding members of the team Oliver Birch, Stewart Kenny, Gregg Rodgers and Phil Wood. Since then the team has gone from strength to strength, with over 350 students playing for the team over the last 10 years and countless more students being involved in Cheerleading at the University.

The evening included speeches from former players and coaches, which was highlighted by an entertaining poem from Richard Hennessy who delivered a poem on the history of the Warriors from 2002-2006 and a video speech from Happie Singh in Canada.

All those that attended enjoyed the event greatly and pledged to continue to support the Hallam Warriors Alumni Association and attend further events that are being scheduled for the future. John Edley, former Head Coach for the team stated that it was ‘a fantastic event that embodied the heart and spirit of the team.’
