Malaysian alumni and students studying in partnership with Sheffield Hallam at KBU International College in Kuala Lumpur caught up with friends, alumni and University staff at a British-themed quiz night. 

The quiz was hosted by the new director of Sheffield Hallam University's South East Asia office Swee Wah. The event was jointly organised by the University's Alumni Connect Team in the Marketing Directorate, the Department of International Development, the Corporate Events Team and the South East Asia Office. Over 60 alumni, students and University staff attended.

The evening was designed to be a fun social event that played on the UK connection by offering a traditional British quiz whilst educating the alumni about Sheffield Hallam. Events of this kind provide ongoing social and professional networking opportunities for our alumni in Malaysia, an opportunity for alumni to reconnect with Sheffield Hallam staff, and allow the University to maintain and build relationships with alumni living in the region.

Professor Philip Martin, Pro Vice-Chancellor of student experience, learning and teaching, delivered a short welcome speech before the guests enjoyed British-themed quiz, drinks and buffet. Prizes were given out to the winning teams, which included Sheffield Hallam University hoodies and 'I love Sheffield' bags.

The event was held at Crowne Plaza Mutiara hotel in Kuala Lumpur and took place during the week between the two Tunku Abdul Rahman College (TARC) graduation ceremonies, held at the One World Hotel, Petaling Jaya, Selangor over consecutive weekends. Over 700 students attended the graduations to celebrate their achievements as Sheffield Hallam graduates.
