Congratulations Team Hallam
Wednesday 08 May 2019
On a bright but chilly Sunday morning in April, a troupe of Team Hallam runner's gathered in Sheffield City centre ready to take on the hills of the Half Marathon.
The training had finished, but the challenge had only just begun and our fantastic team of alumni, students and staff had a 13.2 mile run ahead of them, all in aid of the Hallam Fund.
Thousands of spectators lined the streets of Sheffield, and Team Hallam supporters met to cheer on our runners at every step of the way. The route consisted of a tough up-hill climb to the edge of the peak district, and then back down through the outskirts of Dore to reach the finish line in the City centre.
All of our 26 Team Hallam runners successfully completed the race, and regrouped after for a well-deserved (alcohol-free!) pint in the sun.
This year, Team Hallam so far has fundraised almost £3,500 for students from disadvantaged and under-represented backgrounds. If you would like to congratulate Team Hallam on their efforts and show your support, you still have the opportunity to donate here. The money raised will give students from disadvantaged backgrounds the security and recognition to make the most of what university can offer, regardless of their personal circumstances.
If you would like to be part of Team Hallam next year and run the Sheffield Half for the Hallam Fund, then we would love to sign you up. Discounted early bird places will be available for our alumni, just contact email@example.com to find out more.
We look forward to seeing many more of our alumni, staff and students on the start line in 2020!
