Mentoring gave me so much confidence

In her final year, Nimisha was matched with mentor David Palmer, an experienced graphic designer.
"I wanted to work with a mentor because I wanted to get experience of the different career paths open to me. I was nervous at first because I was meeting a person I didn’t know, but straight away David was really easy to talk to.
“We met regularly for four months. I wanted to learn more about branding which is his specialism, so he would set me briefs, I would present my work to him and he would give me feedback. It gave me so much more confidence.
“He also helped me with my portfolio, my CV, and what to take to interviews. And when I told him I had a job interview, he did a mock interview with me which really helped me prepare. I got the job and am now working as a graphic design intern.”
Nimisha's mentor David says: "Being a mentor was an incredibly rewarding experience. It really made me think about what advice I could have done with knowing when I was finishing my course."
