The Hallam Fund – supporting our students to achieve their ambitions

Tuesday 02 February 2021

The University's Hallam Fund was established in 2016 and is funded through donations from alumni, staff, and friends of the University to provide additional support to innovative projects which benefit our student and research community.

Every penny of each donation goes directly to support students and academic research and to date over £282,000 of donations have been disbursed. Funding has enabled the University to provide essential support for the most disadvantaged and vulnerable student groups, giving those students the chance to take up life-transforming opportunities they would not normally have access to.

One of the ways donations to the Hallam Fund supports students is through scholarships. At Sheffield Hallam University we prioritise scholarships for students who have little-to-no access to financial support from home and those who face barriers to access and success from under-representation in higher education.

Alongside, our ambition this year to expand our scholarships offer, we continue to focus on supporting our students who face ongoing challenges and financial disruption due to the pandemic and lockdown. We know our students are feeling the financial strain and we are continuing to respond to the existing and emerging needs of our students.
