Tommy started his branding consultancy The Identity Agency while studying his law degree. Now he’s completed his studies, he’s working full-time on his business – with the help of the Enterprise Team at Sheffield Hallam.

‘The Enterprise Team has really helped me define my business – before I met them I didn’t realise that what I was doing was ‘branding’. They’ve given me financial support to print business cards. And they run loads of events and workshops. I went to one with an accountant which taught me everything I needed to know about registering as a business.

‘The amount of knowledge they have is brilliant, and they have so many contacts too. Whatever you need to know, they will be able to put you in touch with someone who can help. I also worked from their office space before lockdown. It’s relaxed, like working in a coffee shop, but everyone around you is in the same position as you and working on their business, so there’s a focused atmosphere which I find really helpful.

‘I have quite a few other business ideas in the early stages and I’ll definitely be working with the Enterprise Team on them. Working for yourself can be lonely so it’s nice having people that care about your business – and not only that, they can help too.’
