Gaining knowledge from people that have already been through the graduate recruitment process is a useful tool for any student. Which is why, in October, the SBS Marketing Society helped to put on an event where students had the chance to meet with former students.

The event, which saw students attend from multiple levels of marketing related courses, kicked off with each of the alumni giving a short presentation about their journey since graduation. They also gave useful tips and advice to the budding placement seekers and future graduates which would stand them in good stead for the upcoming months. After, the alumni took the time to sit with each table individually to discuss any points the students had in more detail, moving around periodically. By hosting the event in this format, it allowed all of the students the opportunity of a personalised experience.

It was amazing for the Marketing Society to be involved in the organisation of this event. There was a really relaxed atmosphere and I could see that the students were benefiting from it all. I would encourage any student to go to these types of events; it will pay off in the long run.
