Upcoming volunteering opportunities
Hallam Career Mentoring
The Hallam Career Mentoring Scheme matches student mentees with industry professionals who can offer a real insight into working life within a relevant role or industry. Students and mentors work together between December and May, and typically meet online or in person four times during this period. The scheme recruits mentors in November each year. Register your interest to take part in 2023.
Subject specific opportunities
Engineering and mathematics
The Department of Engineering and Mathematics are seeking alumni to share their personal and career stories since graduating with current students to engage them in thinking about their own employability beyond their studies. This is an alumni panel event at City Campus on 22 February 2024 at 3pm. Register your interest.
Psychology
We know our psychology alumni go on to work in many different industries and roles, and we would like to provide students with the chance to hear about the variety of opportunities that are available to them once they have completed their studies. We’re seeking recent graduates (up to 5 years since graduating) to join a series of panel events which are held throughout the academic year, typically on Wednesdays at 3pm, on campus. Register your interest.
Finance, Accounting and Business Systems (FABS)
Alumni are invited to get involved in the next FABS careers fair which is typically held in October each year at City Campus. We are seeking alumni to participate in CV workshops and one-to-one 'café' style conversations with students to offer career insight and advice. The time commitment is 1-2 hours or more if desired. Employers are also welcome to exhibit at the event if they are interested in recruiting graduates, offering work experience and/or raising the profile of their organisation. Register your interest.
MSc International Business Management
Sheffield Business School is seeking career profiles from alumni who studied MSc International Business Management. The profiles will be used as part of the EFMD re-accreditation process to demonstrate the success of alumni from this programme.
EFMD is the most thorough programme accreditation system for business and/or management degrees and courses. It constitutes a benchmark for what is considered an internationally recognised and peer-reviewed programme. It is advantageous for the University, our students and alumni to be involved with an EFMD course. Submit your profile.
Alumni profiles
As a graduate of Sheffield Hallam University, your experiences of how you’ve used your degree for a career you love can inspire and help our prospective students in deciding on their course and future career. If you graduated in the last five years and would like to share your experiences please get in touch by completing a profile form. We’ll use your story to help us in recruiting new students.
