Whether you're a food manufacturer or retailer we have a wealth of knowledge to suit your every need. We're home to the National Centre of Excellence in Food Engineering, with particular expertise in materials engineering and energy management. We have an award-winning packaging design team, and have specialists in areas including nutrition, carbon foot-printing and microbiology.
As one of the UK's largest universities, we can offer expertise in a broad range of disciplines. Collaboration across different academic areas is part of our ethos – we go beyond the obvious to tackle your challenge from all angles. For example, our sport scientists can help to demonstrate the impact of food products on an athlete's performance, and our psychologists can help you to understand consumer habits.
We also have expertise in the area of public health. We're developing programmes that tackle obesity using behaviour change techniques, and evaluating the impact of government schemes that provide people with the skills and confidence to cook healthy meals.
