Course leaders and tutors
Janette Hurst is a Senior Lecturer in the Organisational Behavior and Human Resource Management Subject Group in the Department of Management.
You will have the opportunity to arrange a work placement in the second half of your second year of your degree. This gives you a real-world experience to prepare you for your future career — improving your business acumen, self-management, contacts and interpersonal skills.
Throughout the course, there are a range of projects, business simulations and client-led tasks that will allow you to apply your knowledge to real-life scenarios. You'll improve your analytical mindset, learning agility and critical thinking through these activities.
Your continued engagement and interaction with the business world will allow you many opportunities for networking throughout the course. You'll work with others, improve your interpersonal skills and learn to build relationships.

Where will I study?

This must include at least 48 points from 2 A Levels or equivalent BTEC qualifications. For example:
- BBC at A Level
- DMM in BTEC Extended Diploma.
- A combination of qualifications, which may include AS levels, EPQ and general studies
- English Language at grade C or 4
- Maths at grade C or 4
• Access - an Access to HE Diploma with at least 45 credits at level 3 and 15 credits at level 2. At least 15 level 3 credits must be at merit grade or above, from a QAA-recognised Access to HE course, or an equivalent Access to HE certificate.
If English is not your first language, you will need an IELTS score of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in all skills, or equivalent.
If you do not have any of the qualifications above but have relevant experience you are welcome to discuss potential opportunities with the admissions tutor.
Please note the University will only admit students who are aged 18 at the point of enrolment.

Fees and funding
Our tuition fee for UK/EU students starting full-time undergraduate study in 2020/21 is £9,250 per year. During your placement year you will pay a reduced fee of £1,200.
