Course summary

  • Top up your existing qualifications to honours level.
  • Develop and apply management principles in the experiential marketing and events industry.
  • Learn how to implement a successful experiential marketing campaign.
  •  Understand the key practices required to deliver successful, sustainable events.

This top-up course works closely with leading experiential marketing agency TRO. You’ll gain a sound understanding of events management, and prepare for a career in the more specific role as an experiential marketing professional. Throughout the year, you’ll develop a multitude of skills which will enable your success in an event-based career.

On this course, you'll develop your skills through a combination of seminars, workshops and lectures, and by completing real-world projects. 

You’ll work with external organisations, including TRO, to enhance your understanding of the subject — learning how to tackle its complexities and challenges.

Applied learning

Work placement

As this is a top-up route, there is not a placement opportunity with this course. However there are still a number of applied learning initiatives. 

You have access to work experience opportunities across various event sectors (including the experiential marketing and wider events/marketing sectors), available from an online portal updated in real-time with roles ranging from local charity events to international festivals in Europe.  

Live projects 

As part of this course, you will undertake a large real-world project worth 40 credits to deliver an Experiential Marketing based event in Sheffield. 

You will have the autonomy to create, market and deliver the event, supported by experienced tutors.

Additional to the Live Experiential Event module you will be using real-world case studies and examples in class whilst also working alongside experiential marketing agency TRO in a number of modules.

Entry requirements

All students

Normally one from

• a HND or foundation degree in a relevant subject, with an overall merit profile from year two modules

• equivalent qualification in a relevant subject

If English is not your first language you will need an IELTS score of 6.0 or above, with a minimum score of 5.5 in each skill.

Please note the University will only admit students who are aged 18 at the point of enrolment.
