Applied learning

Work placements

You gain essential practical and project management experience during a two week work-based consultancy project. This enables you to consolidate all of your learning and put it into practice by completing a real or simulated project for an organisation in the UK.

Towards the end of the course, you can also choose to complete an industry placement lasting up to 12 months. We can help you to gain a placement by running CV and interview skills workshops. If you are successful in gaining a placement a member of staff will provide support during this time.

Field trips

At the beginning of the course, you take part in a two-day residential to introduce you to the competencies needed to complete the MBA. You work with an expert mentor to design a personal development programme. Your mentor also guides your progress, helping to ensure you gain the maximum benefit from the MBA and that you achieve your leadership goals.

Networking opportunities

During the course you will be able to attend guest lectures from leading industry experts who provide unique insights into business and management. You will also be able to develop shared learning, business contacts and networking opportunities through your placement experiences, peers, teaching staff and industry experts.

Future careers

The MBA is designed to enhance your leadership capability, providing you with support to identify your strengths and weaknesses, and delivers the necessary development to enable you to advance your career. This personal development is supported by practical experience and real world academic learning. This ensures that you have the skills, knowledge and experience that modern organisations seek from their leaders.

The course is highly valued by employers and previous MBA graduates have gone on to develop successful careers in senior management in a wide range of industries across the world. It prepares you for roles such as Digital Transformation Consultancy, Digital Project Management, and Digital Strategy.

Accreditation

This course is accredited by ILM and upon successful completion of the MBA you will also receive an ILM Level 7 Diploma in Leadership and Management.  You will also be able to showcase this ‘dual achievement’ though you very own Digital Badge, which will display detailed information of both your degree and ILM achievements.

As ILM have a partnership with the Institute of Leadership and Management you will be entitled to activate one year of ‘Student Membership’ to the Institute and access a variety of digital resources to support you with programme completion. Successful graduates can apply for full professional membership of the Institute of Leadership and Management (all applications are subject to professional body approval and work experience).
