Course summary
- Study on a course run in partnership with Sensory Integration Education (SIE)
- Develop in-depth knowledge and understanding of the neuroscience underpinning sensory integration and processing, and the theory and application of Ayres Sensory Integration®
- Build understanding and recognition of sensory integration and processing, throughout the lifespan with a range of individuals
This course is available to Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Speech and Language Therapists, and equips you with the knowledge and confidence to practise as a sensory integration practitioner.
There are multiple intakes of each Sensory Integration module throughout the year (further details of start dates can be found on the Sensory Integration website here). All modules ensure that the perspective of the person and their family (the service user) is at the heart of the learning. You will have your own Module e-Mentor who will support your individual learning needs, plus an online study group offering peer learning support.

Applied learning
The postgraduate certificate includes 40 clinical hours, which can be completed either within your own workplace or you can arrange to complete them in a different suitable environment.
You are also supported by mentoring sessions, facilitated by a mentor of your choosing from the SIE-Register of Clinical Mentors. In these sessions you will develop both your clinical reasoning and intervention skills.
In addition, when you start your Sensory Integration Masters learning you will become a member of Sensory Integration Education’s community of best practice, Association of Sensory Integration practitioners (ASIP).

Students who complete this course may also go on to further study, by completing either a PgDip in Sensory Integration (along with Advanced Sensory Integration Practitioner status awarded by SIE) and a Masters in Sensory integration.

Entry requirements
All students
Normally, applicants will hold a first degree or professional qualification in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or Speech and Language Therapy which is recognised in the UK.
Equivalent, international academic and/or professional qualifications will be accepted.
Applicants are usually required to provide at least one reference evidencing your capability for postgraduate study.
If English is not your first language you will need an IELTS score of 7.0 overall and a minimum of 6.5 in all skills, or a recognised equivalent.

Our tuition fee for UK/EU students starting full-time study in 2020/21 is £2,699 for the course.
