On this course, you'll learn to think about education differently. You'll develop specific, authoritative interests as an educator, and be empowered to influence or lead practice and policy. The course will enable you to develop competence, resilience and knowledge — allowing you to become a highly employable professional.
How you learn
All our courses are designed around a set of key principles based on engaging you with the world, collaborating with others, challenging you to think in new ways, and providing you with a supportive environment in which you can thrive.
At the beginning of their programme of study all participants will be offered induction and ongoing support sessions. Participants will be introduced to ways of accessing and making optimum use of ICT and Learning Centre support and resources, as well as other sources of student support.
Three days of lectures and seminars, timed to correspond with arising participant need, support the introduction and design of the project, mid-review and pre-submission. Ongoing supervisory support allocated by specialism is provided.

- tutor-led seminars, workshops, participant-led activities, group and peer discussion, self-directed study, reading and reflection
- digital resources including the Blackboard VLE which enables participants to interact with content covered in modules and to support peer learning
- resources and support offered by Student Learning Services, including the Learning Centre.

Deputy programme leader and professional tutor for Teach First Programme. Supervisor/tutor for participants on Masters in Teaching and Learning Programme.
You will be encouraged to establish an authoritative voice founded on a broad and deep knowledge base, drawing on theoretical and research literature, policy practice guidance and practitioner networks.
This theoretical knowledge will link to your own experience within your educational context. You will be encouraged to take a reflective, critical approaching to your own practice.
The primary purpose of this course is to support the development of teachers as leaders of learning and employability-related transferable attributes such as leadership are embedded to support transition to other roles as careers progress.
This course prepares you for a career in:

You study at City Campus through a structured mix of online lessons and face-to-face teaching with access to digital and online resources to support your learning.
City Campus is located in the heart of Sheffield, within minutes of the train and bus stations.

- four specialist labs for cyber security, digital forensics and computer networking
A PGDE Leadership in Learning (Teach First) or other PGDE Teach First qualification
A PGCE Teach First or other PGCE Teach First qualification.
Entrants with PGCE Teach First will be required to complete an additional two modules: Collaborative Learning and Development and Extending Impact and Influencing Others.

Fees and funding
Our tuition fee for UK students starting part-time study in 2021/22 is £2,830 for 60 credits or £5,660 for 120 credits.
