Preparing for a study exchange or a work placement abroad?

Outgoing students

Once you have applied, and have your place confirmed, you should research your partner institution/employer and host city/country. You will be invited to attend study exchange/placement abroad support sessions which you must attend. During the sessions, you will be given advice about:

• Visa requirements
• Insurance
• Finding accommodation
• Settling in
• Culture Shock
• Keeping safe
• Managing your money

Once you have attended these sessions, you will be given the option to book an individual appointment for support with your visa application. In the mean time, please raise an enquiry on My Hallam if you require additional information.
