The Climate Emergency: Becoming Carbon Literate
A Virtual Exchange
21 - 28 May 2021
This virtual exchange is open for applications and priority will be given to SHU students who have been unable to undertake a period of outbound mobility this academic year (2020/21) due to COVID-19.
During the week students will work in intercultural groups to create personal and group action plans leading to the reduction of their own carbon footprint and that of others. More specifically, the students will investigate the role of the university in delivering a zero-carbon world within the context of the national Carbon Emergency Pledge.
The intense study week with be led by John Grant, a senior lecturer from the Department of Natural and Built Environment in Sheffield Hallam University.
The Virtual Exchange counts towards the Global Citizenship Portfolio, so students who successfully complete it, can also complete the Portfolio. If you wish to do this, please note that Step 1 - 3 are already incorporated in the Virtual Exchange Project, so you will only need to take part in a moderated discussion or submit a reflective journal to compete the Global Citizenship Portfolio.
Completing the virtual project can also count as an activity towards achieving The Hallam Award.
