The Hallam Fund
No. Wearing a gown is optional and you can cross the stage and graduate without wearing one if you wish.
The deadline for ordering your gown is 25 October 2019 – the same day as the ticket booking deadline.
There is no deadline for ordering photography, and packages can be purchased on the day if you wish.
See a picture of the Sheffield Hallam University gowns (PDF).
Ede & Ravenscroft gowns can vary in price depending on the award achieved. Please visit their website to view the costing for the gown.
Photographs can be bought in packages from Ede & Ravenscroft and may be purchased on the day. Please see their website for further details.
Ede & Ravenscroft are our official suppliers for both our gowns and photographs, so we do recommend that you use them for your graduation services. Quality cannot be guaranteed if you wish to go elsewhere.
If you wear a gown you will need to wear the correct Sheffield Hallam University gown (PDF 494 KB) to attend your ceremony.
Facilities for deaf, hearing and speech impaired people are available using Text phone - please dial 1800 1012 2386 1854 to access the RIND Typetalk system.
Terms and conditions for cancellations are available online or from Ede and Ravenscroft's call centre operators.
Both gowning and photography open from 8am each day for all graduates. The gowning and photography will close at 6pm for the 10:30am and 2:30pm graduates, at which point your gown will also need to be returned. If your ceremony is at 6pm, your gown will need to be returned straight after your ceremony.
The gown collection area and photography studio will be located in the Ballroom on the lower ground level of Sheffield City Hall. Graduates are able to collect their gowns from 8am, but we do advise that graduates attending the 2:30pm or 6pm ceremonies wait until the previous ceremony has started before they arrive to the City Hall (10:30am or 2:30pm respectively) to reduce queues. You are welcome to take your photographs at any point during the course of the day until they close (usually at 6pm unless there is an evening ceremony).
Please email Ede & Ravenscroft if you do not want your photograph to be published on their website.
You will be graduating with the award that is listed on your certificate and this is what you should select when booking your gown. If you are unsure, please contact the Graduation Office on email@example.com.
