Focus on...Your newly refurbished Students' Union

Over the summer, Sheffield Hallam Students' Union has undergone a huge transformation. We decided that the current building was no longer fit for purpose, so we took the opportunity to make some changes and create a more comfortable, engaging and functional space.
One of the best developments is the new common room which has big leather sofas, beanbags, a pool table, table tennis and a TV. It has the feel of a shared living room and it's a great place to meet friends and chill.
Then there are flexible learning spaces, which are relaxing places with desks where you can plug your laptop in and study in a laid back atmosphere. It's a less formal environment to work in too - where else can you take a break and play a game of table tennis?
The newly designed Advice Centre looks amazing - it reminds me of a space ship! It's moved upstairs and it's a lot bigger now, and there are self-help spaces where you can make important phone calls. It's staffed by an expert advice team who are always on hand if you want to drop by.
There's also a café upstairs in the central HubSpace where you can grab a coffee or a snack. Or you can go to the bar downstairs which sells awesome food - my favourite is the pulled pork melt with cheese. And, of course, there are always plenty of drinks offers on. The shop is in the same space as it was before too and is packed with Sheffield Hallam merchandise.
The officers and part-time reps are in a new space on the ground floor and you can't miss us when you walk in. Our door is always open - in fact there is no door! Pop in and say hello anytime. We're here to talk to you about absolutely anything, whether it's related to your course, sports, societies or the union itself. Or if you just fancy a chat.
Come down and take a look around to find out how Sheffield Hallam Students' Union can make your time here even better.
